NaNoWriMo is a national event, and they wrangle up volunteers on the local level to keep everything running smoothly. For some reason, those volunteers think they can manage to spearhead local events, maintain online presences, promote NaNoWriMo, and write their own novel in 30 days.
Welcome to PeoWriMos. We’re so happy to have you!
No, really. We love this stuff. Live for it, even. Our fellow writers have heard us say it a million times, but we love-love-love hearing NaNo stories–why you write is just as important as what you write.
Barb could talk about herself in third person all day, so here’s the brief: she writes. A lot. Less now with a toddler climbing the walls, but enough. Book out here and here, website here, and tumblr here. Watch out–she loves RPGs, board games, and fantasy, so you’ll find all that and more cluttering her stories. You’ve been warned!
Cheri wears many hats–literally and figuratively. Before she became the PR minion for PeoWriMos, she was a really-official Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo for six stellar years, and before that she founded/led Wordsmiths By Night and cofounded Aesthetic Underground Open Mic at Contemporary Art Center. Oh, she teaches writing workshops to both adults and kids. That’s a lot of fancy words to say, she’s been leading creative communities for thirteen and a half years. While not a leader ‘officially,’ Cheri is our go-to for support, promotion, and all-around awesomesauce!
